Welcome to Our Class!

Hello! Welcome to 8th grade English at CHMS! My name is Savanna Chalk and I am so excited to be starting my 3rd year as a Mustang.

To all of my parents, grandparents, guardians, and students, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns throughout the year. I look forward to working alongside you to ensure that everyone is getting the most out of what this new year has to offer!

About the Teacher

Education and Experience:

 I graduated High School in 2015 from Northpoint Christian School. I then attended the Education program at the University of Mississippi. Throughout my time at Ole Miss, I observed and student taught at Lewisburg Elementary and Olive Branch Elementary. 

 

Certification(s):

  • Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Ole Miss with endorsements in English, Social Studies, and Special Education K-12. 
  • MS Teaching License


Personal Info:

I grew up in Hernando, MS and have since settled in Nesbit. My husband and I will be celebrating one year of marriage in October.. My husband and I love animals and have fostered dogs for Perfect Match Animal Rescue. I am very passionate about reading and writing and hope to share that with my students. I taught 6th grade ELA for two years and this will be my first year teaching 8th grade. I am excited to see some familiar faces that I have previously taught and am looking forward to meeting all of my new students as well.
