The CHMS Mustang Gazette is a monthly newspaper created and produced by a small staff of 7th and 8th grade students. 

 

Our staff works together daily to research and create a four-page newspaper comprised of articles, puzzles, cartoons, and memes covering both light-hearted and serious topics.  In addition to producing the monthly newspaper, the class completes several research assignments throughout the year.  Research topics include Journalistic Objectivity, Hard News vs Feature Stories, and investigative research on the Flint, Michigan Water Crisis. Students on staff create their work on our school technology and are encouraged to work alone or in groups based on their individual needs.
