Welcome to 8th Grade Math!

This year I will be teaching 8th grade math, both regular and advanced.

Grades for 8th:

Bell work will be given each day online. Students will have access to their bell work each day on MASTERY CONNECT through CLEVER. Students have the first 10 minutes of class to complete that day’s portion of bell work. Answers to bell work are discussed daily. Students need to show work in order to receive credit. This is a CLASSWORK grade. 

Homework will be given every night except most Fridays. Students will turn in homework on SCHOOLOGY daily, before 11;59pm, with all work shown for full credit. Homework answers will be given out the next class and questions will be answered. Homework grades will be made up of the entire week (example: R1 W1 Homework). 

Quizzes are given at the end of every section of the chapters. These quizzes are a classwork grade.

Tests will be given online at the end of every chapter. There will be 4 Test grades every nine weeks. Test reviews will be completed in class to assist students in preparing for each test. Study guides will reflect the test, and will be given in advance and should be used to study for the upcoming test.

Students can access Schoology by clicking the link at the top of the page. 

Each student will be enrolled in a course (class period.) In their course they will find a weekly folder. Included in the folder will be lessons for each day of the week. Students are expected to submit their assignments on time and contact me with any questions or concerns. 

Students with login issues should put in a help ticket at http://www.dcsdms.org/tickets with the subject line of "Schoology help needed" and the tech department will get back to them as soon as possible.
